This event is an incredible opportunity for New Zealand’s handball community to connect with a global leader in handball coaching and gain insights applicable to all levels of play.
The annual regional competition. This year it includes the final games of the Handball League Aotearoa. Details to be confirmed.
This year's AGM for the New Zealand Handball Federation will be held via Zoom.
All Clubs - please email secretary@handball.org.nz, cc president@handball.org.nz, with confirmation of your respective virtual voting reps for the AGM. Each club that has paid its affiliation fee and annual team-based sub by 6 September is entitled to one vote at the meeting. At the same time, please confirm the Club email address you would like us to send the Zoom meeting invite to. Each Club is free to share the meeting link with its membership base, but the invite will only be directed to the Club's official nominated email address plus the address of the nominated rep. Please note the meeting invite will come from a work email address.
Executive Committee membership - A key agenda item for which a vote will be required is the election of officers to the Executive Committee. Of the current elected members of that Committee, three - Willy Silcock, Karl Fitzpatrick, and Julien Pringot - are one year into their two year terms so will continue in office. The other two elected members - David Ireland and Rowan Moloughney - have now completed our two year terms. In accordance with the constitution we must stand down at the AGM, although will be eligible for re-election. Our sixth Executive Committee Member, Frank Stoltenberg, is an appointee of the Life Members, with the Life Members making a call on their appointee for the next term following the AGM.
There will be openings for three people to be elected to join the Executive Committee at the AGM. We now call for nominees for election. It would be great to have some fresh blood and further diversity at the table to add new ideas and energy to help oversee the ongoing development of New Zealand handball. This is primarily a governance role, but requires someone willing to roll up their sleeves and commit to the cause for at least the next two years. Don't be shy!
The power to make nominations sits with the Members (i.e. Clubs and Life Members). If any Member would like to nominate someone, please email president@handball.org.nz or KC at secretary@handball.org.nz, with that nominee copied so they can confirm their nomination. Please feel free to contact any of the current Executive Committee members if you would like to know more about what is involved. To be valid, nominations must be received by me or secretary@handball.org.nz no later than Friday 13 September.
We would also welcome any items of general business any of you would like to raise at the AGM. If there is anything you would like us to place on the agenda for discussion, please let us know no later than 13 September.
An agenda for the AGM, including names of those nominated for election to the Executive Committee, will be distributed by 15 September.

The first round of games ended with clear victors but then every game following this ended in penalties. The Toru team after getting beaten in the first game fought through the loser’s bracket and won 3 penalty shootouts in a row to take home the Crown.
