NZHF NATIONAL COACHING COURSES AVAILABLE STARTING THIS MONTH

National coaching courses will start in August and continue throughout the remainder of this year.

The courses will be run by NZHF head of coaching and IHF A-licence coach Dr Eoin Murray. Thanks to New Zealand Olympic Committee National Activities Program funding the course will be FREE for anyone registered to attend. We look forward to a great turn out for these.

The first course will be a two day coaching course aimed at club and school coaches of beginner-intermediate players in Christchurch on the 24/25th of August (9am-3pm both days with South Island Shield matches taking place on Saturday directly after the course). The course will be a mix of classroom and hall based sessions and will form the basis of a new NZHF coaching structure leading to internationally recognised coaching qualifications. Similar courses will be run in Wellington and Auckland before the end of the year.

To register please see the link below or email nzhfcoaching@handball.org.nz:

NZHF has been focussing on developing youth Handball for some years now. We have strong youth activity and school leagues set up in Wellington, Canterbury and Otago, and over the past year have supported a Youth Development manager working in Auckland to establish handball in several schools. Developing our Youth Handball is essential to developing the sport in NZ and we think the time is right to offer this tournament. We hope all regions will get behind this competition and support the growth of our sport.
