NZ Beach Men's Team Wins First of Two at Oceania Beach Champs

NZ Mens Beach Handball team beat Australia in a penalty shootout in the best of 2 series World Champs qualifier. Aaron Huddleston was unstoppable from the wings and Thomas Roxburgh impenetrable in the shoot out. Coach Gaston Fuso said “the team was strong in defence and accurate in attack.”
He goes on to say how proud he is to coach the first senior and first men’s team to be victorious over Australia. Game two is Saturday afternoon, with a win sending the boys to Hungary.

Unfortunately for the girls, they were unable to match it with a well drilled Australian Womens team.

Announcement - New National Coach for the Senior Men Team

Dear New Zealand Handball community,

Over the last two months the NZHF Executive team underwent a thorough application process to find a new National Coach for our senior men’s team. We had multiple high quality applications and at the end of the recruitment process the successful applicant is Ludovic Galliegue.

All the applicants showed great passion and presented great ideas to apply to the National team in the future, all with ambitious goals in mind. We thank them for their time and effort in applying.

We would like to congratulate Ludovic on his appointment and wish him a successful coaching experience with the NZHF senior men’s national team over his coaching tenure.

Ludovic has brought on board with him a new Assistant Coach, Frederic Han. Congratulations to Frederic on his appointment.

As part of the NZHF’s desire for open and transparent processes, Ludovic temporarily stood down from the NZHF Executive Committee during the application process. With his successful appointment, Ludovic will immediately and permanently step down from his duties in the NZHF Executive team.

Ludovic and Frederic have received a handover from the NZHF and they are now starting their planning processes. Ludovic will be in contact with all existing senior male national team players and as well as with the regions to communicate the next steps.

We are looking forward to see the national team growing further under the leadership of Ludovic and Frederic.

The NZHF Executive Committee
